Small Business Permit Fee Waivers for the Month of May
During the month of May, small businesses (100 employees or less) can take advantage of new legislation that waives the permit fees for 1) awning replacements (not new installations) and 2) pedestrian-level lighting. Click here for details in EnglishChinese or Spanish.

We hope small businesses throughout the entire city will take advantage of this opportunity. If you have been considering these storefront improvements, this month is the perfect time to do so without having to pay hundreds of dollars for permits!

For information on how to apply for the permit fee waiver, contact the Planning Department, 1650 Mission Street, Suite 400, (415) 558-6378 or, Department of Building Inspection, 1660 Mission Street, (415) 558-6088.
