2010 Minimum Compensation Ordinance wage rates remain $11.54/hour (for-profit) and $11.03/hour (non-profit)
2009 MCO wage rate: $11.54/hour
effective January 1, 2009
(see note below)
Note: The new 2009 wage rate applies to employees of commercial businesses that contract with the City or that lease property at SFO. The MCO wage rate for non-profit organizations remains at $11.03/hour.
The MCO wage rates, along with additional amendments to the law, were adopted by the Board of Supervisors in September 2007.
These amendments affect new contracts entered into on or after October 14, 2007 and existing contracts amended on or after that date. To view the amended ordinance, please click on the link entitled "Minimum Compensation Ordinance, Administrative Code Section 12P" below. |

The Minimum Compensation Ordinance (MCO), which became effective October 8, 2000, generally requires City contractors that provide services and tenants at the San Francisco Airport to provide to their covered employees: (1) no less than the MCO hourly wage in effect; (2) 12 paid days off per year (or cash equivalent); (3) 10 days off without pay per year.
