  • The Small Business Commission, in collaboration with the Mayor's Office, the Small Business Development Center, and other non-profit small business service providers will meet at a location yet to be determined on Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at 10 AM for a merchant walk of parts of Castro Street, 18th Street, and Market Street.  The purpose of the walk will be to distribute information of city services that are available to small businesses, as well as to gather information from the merchants regarding their issues and concerns as small businesses in San Francisco.    This is part of an outreach effort on behalf of the City & County of San Francisco and the Small Business Commission.

Know Your Rights Under the Sunshine Ordinance

Government’s duty is to serve the public, reaching its decisions in full view of the public. Commissions, boards, councils and other agencies of the City exist to conduct the people’s business.  This ordinance assures that deliberations are conducted before the people and that city operations are open for the people’s review.  For more information on your rights under the Sunshine Ordinance (Chapter 67 of the San Francisco Administrative Code) or to report a violation of the ordinance, contact the Sunshine Ordinance Task Force at 554-6083.  To obtain a free copy of the Sunshine Ordinance contact:

Cell Phone and/or Sound-Producing Electronic Device Usage at Hearings

Effective January 21, 2001, the Board of Supervisors amended the Sunshine Ordinance by adding the following provision: The ringing of and use of cell phones, pagers and similar sound-producing electronic devices are prohibited at this meeting. Please be advised that the Chair may order the removal from the meeting room of any person(s) responsible for the ringing or use of a cell phone, pager, or other similar sound-producing electronic devices.

Translation Services

Interpreters for languages other than English are available o request.  Sign language interpreters are also available on request.  For other accommodation, please call the Department of Human Services staff support representative at 557-5989 at least two business days before a meeting.

Chemical Sensitivity

In order to assist the City’s efforts to accommodate persons with severe allergies, environmental illness, multiple chemical sensitivity or related disabilities, attendees at public meetings are reminded that other attendees may be sensitive to various chemical base products.  Please help the City accommodate these individuals.
